A group of
business men, led by John E. Cole, purchased 30 acres of
land for a cemetery. |

| 1926

Pinecrest
opens with 30 acres offering traditional burials, at that
time 7 miles west of Ottawa. |

An extra 30
acres purchased extending the property to Greenbank Road. |
|
| 1962
- |
The first
crematorium between Toronto and Montreal is established and
a new choice is available. |

| 1968
- |
A second
chapel is constructed to again meet the needs of families.
Cremation becomes more acceptable as a choice. Urn Gardens,
Exterior Columbariums are built to meet the ever increasing
challenge. |

A second
crematorium is constructed as well as an Indoor Columbarium. |

| 1978

A Garden
Crypt Mausoleum is built, followed in 1984 and 1990 with
Mausoleums offering both above ground entombment and
Cremation Niches.
120 acres in West Carleton
is purchased to create Highland Park Cemetery. |

1990's - |
The creation
of Ontario’s first Full Service facility with On-site
Visitation and Receptions. During this time a program of
pre-planning for families along with inviting grounds and
abundant Memorialization choices have enabled Pinecrest to
remain the Choice for families.
Pinecrest now offers; two
locations with 160 acres, Crematorium, Mausoleums,
Columbariums, Urn Gardens, Visitation, Chapel, Reception
Facilities, Funeral Pre-planning, and Memorialization.

A 9000 sq ft addition
consisting of spacious visitation rooms complete with Plasma
viewing screens and major upgrades to all family service
facilities. |

New
Development Plans are currently underway for Heritage Trail
and Woodland Sites. |

Development plans are in the early stages for a Chapel,
on-site Visitation and administration area for Highland Park
Cemetery. |

Grace Lam
Grace joined Pinecrest Remembrance Services
in 2008. Already she helped many families with their special wishes,
while accommodating many various cultural traditions. A successful
business person and entrepreneur, Grace actively volunteers her time to
support many events within the Asian
community. Grace spearheads the naming of the
Asian Gateway and
Pagoda at our Highland Park site and is always ready to
serve anyone who
needs information on pre-planning their arrangements or
any other of our
services, either at our Pinecrest or Highland Park
location.

David McKay
David has lived in Ottawa all his life, with roots in
Ottawa West as well as Huntley Township. David is
married with two great sons. His volunteer experience
includes many years with Big Brothers Association,
Ottawa Therapy Dogs, church volunteer and many charity
telethons. With a Bachelor of Commerce from
Carleton University and over twenty five years of
successful business ownership in Ottawa, he is pleased
to bring his smile |
and client centered approach to our beautiful Highland
Park Cemetery. So before your life experiences have you
